Jesús Tomás – Senior Lecturer, PhD
Jesús has been involved in national and European projects on sea turtle and cetacean conservation since 1995. He has worked with six of the world’s seven sea turtle species, focusing on their ecology, migration, conservation, and interactions with fisheries in Spain and several other countries.
He is the author and co-author of more than 90 scientific publications, several books, book chapters and informative publications, most of them on sea turtles. He has also been an active member of the IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group since 2004 and has served on the Board of the International Sea Turtle Society.
Today, he coordinates the teams responding to loggerhead sea turtle nesting events along the beaches of the Valencia region.
